Learner: Anisha             Learning Coach: Stephanie Hooker         Date: 21 June 2016

Learning Observed
Today we completed a Running Record on Anisha to assess her reading capabilities. She scored 97% for accuracy and was able to answer two out of five comprehension questions to show her understanding of the story.  She attempted unknown words and self corrected using picture cues and her letter sound knowledge. She enjoys reading and she uses expression. Well done Anisha. She is developing fluency and phrasing as sometimes finger pointing slows her own.

Word Scramble - Boggle Practice

Learner: Anisha                Learning Coach: Talia Morgan                 Date: 15th June 2016
Learning Area: iDevelop - Reading, Word Work
Learning Observed
Anisha was invited to choose between learning tasks and she chose to complete an alphabet boggle. Anisha had to use the alphabet letters to create any words she could think of. She was trying to spell words that would create the most points. The letters that are worth the most points are the letters that are trickier to use and Anisha was able to use one ‘z’ but was thinking really hard how to use others such as ‘q’ and ‘x’.
Evidence of learning

Anisha was able to make different words from the alphabet, trying to score the highest points - she even used the tricky letters like ‘z’.
Key Competencies/Vision Principles
Anisha is developing her Capabilities in Reading and Writing words. Anisha was Thinking really hard about what words she could make using the letters that are trickier to use. She was able to work by herself and Collaborated with her peers to think of different words she could make that would add up to the most points (Managing Self and Relating to Others). Anisha was able to use the alphabet letters as they were written on the page, to make, identify and write different words (Using Language, Symbols and Text).
Next Learning Steps
  • Complete a boggle that has only a selection of letters, rather than the whole alphabet.
  • Learn to use a picture dictionary to help find words with those tricky letters in.
  • Learn to use a picture dictionary to help spell words correctly.
  • Attempt to spell words that are within my vocabulary but I am not sure how to spell.
  • Share learning with home.
